Alex Hegge Surprises Everybody

By

Mike Young

Alex Hegge, one of my fellow senior class mates, really wanted to play college baseball and perhaps football.   He was, however, having a hard time getting into a college due to his low ACT score.   As a result of his initial low score, Alex hammered down on the books, studied really hard, then took the test again and his score jumped up a surprising 5 points.   With a higher score he began getting letters from colleges recruiting him to attend their school to play both baseball and football. He was accepted and recruited by schools like Campbellsville University, Brescia University, and Blue Field State in West Virginia.

He has already received an academic scholarship offer to attend Campbellsville and will likely also receive an offer of additional money to play baseball.   When asked how he feels about getting an academic scholarship Alex replied “It’s a great honor and I am very happy about receiving it, I never thought I would ever receive an academic scholarship it is awesome.”  I’m certain that we would all like to say congratulations to Alex on the honors he has received and for all the kids out there who think it is impossible to receive a scholarship, Alex just proved you all wrong, nothing is impossible.
